Grasstree Loop [AWTGS-3]

This is a short (about four kilometre) walk, with a start/finish at Wenhams Camp.

Note that much of this track is not shown on any map, and therefore this walk is rated as AWTGS-3, even though it is quite an easy walk. loading...

Setting off to the north from the picnic area, the first landmark is a y-junction after about 200m; keep left here, and then take the left turn at about 600m.

This leads, after a few metres, to Booths Road, the roadway that would have been used to access Wenhams.

Cross over the roadway here, and veer slightly to the left, so as to pick up the continuation of the single file pathway.

This now leads to some very interesting terrain, where the main items of interest are outcrops of granite, lots of grass trees, and some great views.

Please note that this section of the track is indistinct in places, and that you need to carefully follow the most obvious part of the track when encountering track junctions.

So, staying on the narrow footpad, ignore all of the minor tracks, and follow this footpad through to where it rejoins Booths Road.

Crossing over the roadway, follow the track to where it meets up with another pathway.

Turn left here, and follow this through to the environs of Wenhams Camp, which is about 800m away at this point.
